Okay, so.
A long time ago, when I was still making crappy midis, I was fortunate enough to bump up against someone who was making games and wanted a musician. Nate Wiesel. I made a couple things for him, and then his project fell through and we pretty much stopped talking.
Later, I learned he was a member of a small game dev group, and working on another project. Exactly how my midis got involved, I don’t remember. This time, I wasn’t composing for him so much as I was tossing random unused songs his way, which seemed to be what he wanted.
This project also faded away. I was pretty indifferent, as I was not closely involved, it didn’t matter much to me. I started spending much less time doing musicy things.
About three or four years pass…
…
… They’ve remade it from scratch to improve it, are putting it on Steam and Sony consoles, and are close enough to release it next Fall???
Hey all! We just released our 3rd musical preview for The Legend of Doodle. If you didn’t know, we’ve been putting up sample tracks for a couple of weeks now, and plan on releasing handful of other songs before & after the game is finished! You can check out all past and future tracks over at our YouTube Channel or on the media page of The Legend of Doodle website.

http://thelegendofdoodle.com/mediaMy old music will be available in its original midi form, but the default soundtrack will be remastered versions by Zach Hinchy. He also made several tracks himself [he’s a lot better at it].
It’s really exciting to be featured in such a way. At the same time, I feel like I don’t deserve it, since I didn’t exactly have my stakes involved in this. But I suppose that was their choice to have me distant in such a way, not mine. Anyway, for the sake of the Layabouts and for my own sake, I hope the game is a rousing success!
Boon, we love you. Don’t be down on yourself - your compositions have helped lead to the game having a very interesting and unique atmosphere. And we’re definitely not trying to keep you distant or anything, not on purpose. Sometimes you’re a bit hard to get in contact with, but I always genuinely appreciate when I do get to talk with you and get your feedback, and wish I got the chance more often. You’d be welcome in our Doodle team chat on Skype at the drop of a hat.
